Diabetic gastroparesis is a chronic gastrointestinal motility disorder in which the stomach takes too long to empty its contents, without a mechanical obstruction. It is caused by damage to the vagus nerve, often due to long-standing or poorly controlled diabetes, and leads to delayed gastric emptying. This condition significantly affects glycemic control, nutrient absorption, and quality of life. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and are often intermittent or chronic, including:
- Early satiety (feeling full quickly)
- Nausea and vomiting
- Bloating
- Upper abdominal pain or discomfort
- Loss of appetite
You may be qualify to participate in our current study if you’re:
- At least 18 years or older
- Have been diagnosed with diabetic gastroparesis
- Agree to attend all study visits
